Vale Joseph and Carole - 'Sherry Challenge'
9-Feb-10

by J Simnett

Upon the 23rd January 2010 that being the last round of the FNSW Futsal Super League the Sutherland Shire Futsal Association had a minute silence prior to the under 14 girls match out of respect to the tragic loss experienced by the Sherry family.

SSFA wish to advise of the media release by FNSW shown below;

The Futsal Community comes together for the 'Sherry Family' in their time of Need with four games being played with the highlight of the day being the Australian Futsalroos taking on the NSW Thunder at Dural Sport & Leisure Centre on the 14th of February.

The main attraction will be the Australian Futsalroos v NSW Thunder however three other matches will take place at the Dural Sport & Leisure Centre with all proceeds going to the ‘Sherry Foundation’.

The first match will see the Mascot Vipers Academy side take on the Sydney City Eagles Academy side at 2.15pm while at 2.45, Campbelltown Quake take on the Sydney City Eagles in the Under 12 Boys category.

At 3.15pm the NSW Futsal Referees have a chance to tackle the Football NSW Futsal Premier League and Super League coaches in what should be an exciting affair between the two sides.

Come support the game for a good cause where you will also get a chance to meet and see Australia’s best Futsalroos stars in action as well as getting involved in raffles and auctions on world class memorabilia on the day.

Tragically, both Joseph and wife Carole drowned during a family holiday in Ballina in January after trying to save their children Elise and Nicholas from a rip while daughter Monique looked on from the sand.
Both parents were well loved and respected within the community as they touched many people’s hearts.

Entry for Adults is $5 while for children it will be $2.
