Under 10s Sutherland more success 15-Dec-08 by J Simnett The Sutherland Shire Futsal Association (SSFA) as part of its overall development strategy for junior Futsal entered it’s under 10s development squad in the leading NSW Metro competition at Indoor Central. High calibre and outstanding talent is on display week in week out within the Mascot competition. In the semi final SSFA played a strong outfit Roseland Raptors. SSFA prevailed 8-4 winners and we going to face Man U (aka Golden Boot) whom beat Pagewood 5-4 in a very tight semi final.
The Grand Final was between two teams the have met many times in other tournaments. SSFA started of strong and could have been 5 goals up in first 10 min, but keeper from Man U kept them in the game. Halftime score was 1-1. Second half kicked off with a bang, high emotions from the players, yet exceptional ball and positional play demonstrated. Midway through second half SSFA were leading 3-1 and looked certain to take out the title. Man U came back with two very quick goals to level it with only 4 minutes to go. A late last minute penalty for SSFA which was converted gave SSFA the lead and the boys kept it that way till the final whistle blew. SSFA CHAMPIONS AGAIN. SSFA Under 10s Champion winning side: Marko Aleksic, Cameron Apostolovski, Christian Agliozzo, Jarod Dimovski, Mitchell Georgievski, Matthew Lemich
